Procedures and Policy

The procedures below were approved by the NBCC Board of Directors November 19, 2007

MEDIA ACQUISITION PROCEDURES

1. A member wanting to borrow a tape/DVD media from the Lending Library would e-mail the media librarian (Carl Root, carldroot@comcast.net) requesting the desired media by number and name, and would propose dates for delivery and return.
2. The librarian would respond by e-mail confirming proposed delivery date, and return date.
3. Upon delivery, member would be given the media together with a written statement of the Club’s lending policy.

LENDING POLICY

1. There is a two-media limit per member.
2. Media are expected to be returned to the librarian within 30 days of delivery. At or right before the 30 days, the librarian would send an electronic reminder of the due date. When media have been returned, the librarian would send an e-mail confirmation.
3. If media have not been returned after 45 days from date of delivery, a second electronic reminder would be sent and further borrowing privileges from the Lending Library would be suspended.
4. If media have not been returned after 60 days from date of delivery, a fine of $50 per item borrowed will be imposed and a third reminder would be sent together with a notice of fine.
5. If media have not been returned and the fine for the missing items has not been paid within 30 days of the billing, the Board of Directors may suspend temporarily or terminate the membership upon written notice in accordance with Article V, paragraph 4 of the Club Constitution, with membership not considered for renewal until payment is made.
